For the ninth consecutive year, Downingtown Area School District (DASD) has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. In 2026, DASD is proud to be one of five school districts in Chester County to receive this distinction.

This designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students. To qualify, DASD responded to detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for both school-based and community music programs. To uphold the program’s rigor and credibility, all applications were independently reviewed and verified by WolfBrown, a leading research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.
